Electricity

All guestrooms are outfitted with appropriately sized air-conditioning and heating units. This ensures maximum cooling and heating efficiency while reducing power consumption.

Guestrooms are framed with several energy efficient windows which let light into the room while keeping the room cool on warm days warm on cooler days. These numerous windows throughout guestrooms also reduce guest dependence on lighting by providing an abundant amount of natural light during the day. All windows can also be opened in the event when air conditioning is not required or guests would like fresh air.

All guestrooms are outfitted with Energy Star certified florescent daylight colored light bulbs (6500k). These bulbs use a fraction of the amount electricity in comparison to their incandescent counterparts. The daylight color temperature florescent bulbs also help guests enjoy true and natural-style lighting while they are in their room.

Water

In comparison to older hotels using dated fixtures, our toilets comply with the standard disposal amount of 1.6 gallons per flush (GPF) versus 3.5 or higher GPF. All guestroom showers are also outfitted water pressure adjustable low flow showerheads.

Laundry

Guests staying multiple nights are encouraged to hang dry towels in their room in order to do their part in helping to protect the environment. In the event where housekeeping services are not required, all guestrooms are equipped with “Do Not Disturb” door hangers which let our housekeeping staff know that no new bedding, towels, or cleaning services are required.

While beddings are sent to third parties for cleaning, rest assured, they also employ their own set of green initiatives to help conserve water and electricity. Towels are washed in-house with our Energy Star certified frontload washers and dryers which not only conserve electricity, but water as well.

Landscaping  

All landscaping on the property is watered with our private, ground water well. This ground water is stored naturally below the earth’s surface and usually originates as rain or snow that seeps into the ground.

Recycling

Numerous recycling bins are located throughout the property to help guests recycle paper, plastic, glass, aluminum, etc. In addition, only recycled paper products are made available in guest bathrooms.
